Two farmers participating within the ongoing agitation at Tikri border lost their lives within the past 24 hours. A Punjab farmer, identified as Dhanna Singh (65) of Tunda village in Patiala, died reportedly of asystole at Tikri border within the wee hours of Wednesday. A Rohtak farmer — Jai Bhagwan (42) of Pakasma village — who had consumed poison at Tikri yesterday succumbed during treatment at a hospital in Delhi today.

Sources said Dhanna had been camping in Bahadurgarh for the past several days. He visited bed on Tuesday as was common but didn’t awaken this morning. He was rushed to the Civil Hospital in Bahadurgarh where he was declared brought dead.

Jai Bhagwan had consumed poison near the most dharna spot at Tikri. within the suicide note, he said he was alittle farmer and lots of peasants had taken to the streets to protest against the farm laws.

Sonepat: A 34-year-old farmer died reportedly thanks to asystole at Kundli on Wednesday. He has been identified as Jagjeet Singh of Ludhiana’s Dhatt village. — TNS
