The sun of freedom then waited for time to rise in the eastern sky. Somewhere ‘quit india movement’ or somewhere ‘do or die’. At that time Gandhiji was arrested in the Quit India Movement. It was 10th december 1942 when through a newspaper Subhas babu got the news in Berlin. Bose decided to give a statement for supporting Mahatma ji from his Radio. When his colleagues ask him the reason for doing so, Bose answers, “No one can know what my relationship is with Bapu. ”
On 22 February 1944, as soon as Kasturba Gandhi died, Netaji came on the radio after hearing the news and said something that touched the hearts of every Indian. Netaji said, ‘I join with my 38 crore 80 lakhs Indians and my countrymen living abroad on the death of Kasturba Gandhi. She has died in tragic circumstances, but for a slave countryman, no death can be so honorable and so glorious. Hindustan has suffered a personal loss. I pay my humble tribute to this great lady who was like a mother to all the Indians , and I express my deepest condolences to Gandhiji. ‘
How much respect Subhash babu had for Mahatma Gandhi, he showed it by addressing bapu ‘The Father of the Nation’ in a radio broadcast from Burma, and the statement that Netaji released from the radio after the death of Kasturba Gandhi reveals the true depth of Subhash and Gandhi’s relationship.
Now let’s talk about the friendship between Subhash and Nehru. Both Pandit Nehru and Subhash Chandra Bose were present in Switzerland when Kamla Nehru died in the city of Lojan. Subhash Chandra Bose also stood by Panditji during the funeral, starting from Kamala Nehru’s treatment. Such a view is enough to understand the friendship of both. Even Nehru was also the person who cried in front of everyone in the 1945 hearing the news of Netaji’s plane crash.
In Netaji Subhash Chandra’s autobiography ” A Dream of a Youth ” ( bengali) and ” Indian Struggle ” ( english ) , Netaji mentioned an incident that not only in 1921 but also until 1928 Gandhiji was satisfied with the autonomy within the Commonwealth. And that’s the reason why Subhash Babu disagreed with him in Kolkata. While Pandit Motilal Nehru was in favor of Gandhiji, his son Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru was supporting Subhash and this is also a significant historical moment.
Gandhiji and his successor or disciple Nehru believed that freedom is not something to buy or take away from anyone, but Subhash Chandra Bose believed in achieving freedom through violent revolution. He believed that India would not get freedom from the slavery of the British through non-violence. Think very deeply, none was wrong. Subhas had the energy of youth power and Gandhiji had the experience of life. Subhas thought about the way , on which he could bring freedom but with his experience, Gandhi was also thinking about the future . Even after three hundred years of Torture, thousands of innocent people would have died in the armed movement. There was a lot of differences between the three but respect for each other has never diminished. This was the reason , when Subhash Chandra Bose formed the brigade in the Azad Hind Fauj, it also formed the Gandhi Brigade and the Nehru Brigade.
Being a Netaji follower, You should know that the All India Congress Committee had formed a trust in 1954 to help Netaji’s daughter, through which Anita Bose was given financial assistance of Rs.500 every month. The one person was most cared for by Netaji Subhash’s wife Emily Shankel and their daughter Anita Bose, and he was none but the country’s first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru.
Through some documents and his autobiography of the Chief Minister of West Bengal, Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy showed that on 23 May 1954, a trust of Rs 2 lakh was formed for Anita Bose. And the trustees were Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru and Chief Minister B C Roy. Now it is clear from the above that in the mind of Pandit Nehru, Subhash’s friendship remained lifelong. Now let’s talk about some more facts
It is always said that Gandhi could have stopped the death of Bhagat Singh, but Gandhiji did not do this for Nehru – it is also a lie. Bhagat Singh was able to understand the ideology of Subhash Chandra Bose and Pandit Nehru and that’s why at the age of 21, Bhagat Singh wrote in his letter, “Subhash is an altering while Nehru is a groundbreaking person. ” When Bhagat Singh’s lawyer Pran Nath Mehta arrived to meet him two hours before he was hanged, Bhagat Singh requested to expand his thanks to Pandit Nehru, Gandhiji and Subhash Bose.
A Bengali writer Shri Smarjit Bandopadhyay who was a member of Bongo Congress and a soldier of the Azad Hind Fauj, wrote in his book ‘Gandhiabad Subhasabad Nehruvad ‘ i.e. “ Recently a newspaper quoted some of the confession of Lord Mountbatten, one of the mastermind of the Pakistan Plan that he did not know that Jinnah was suffering from a deadly disease ( may be cancer ) , and if he knew it, he would have taken a few more days to leave India. Because 100 million Muslims in India used to follow the words of that one person. He also wrote that According to the book ‘Mountbatten in India ‘ Alan John Campbell, Mountbatten’s publicity secretary, Mountbatten thought that it would never be possible to leave India without complete the demands of 100 million Muslims. ” Now it is clear that Gandhi Nehru was not the culprit.
It is true that the three of them had a lot of quarrels,
and this is very common among the leaders of a political party, but it is also true that they have always given enough respect to each other. In the thirties, Gandhiji was always heard to say, “I have two sons. The eldest son is Subhash and the youngest son is Jawaharlal.”
Despite the differences of opinion of the three, they always agreed on one issue i.e. to fight against communalism. And that’s why Subhas and Nehru were agreed with Bapu’s this lines –
Let communalism be our enemy.
Let secularism be our main foundation.
Let Nationalism be our main politics.
Let Humanism be our main religion.
Let patriotism be our main ideal.
At the end of the article, it is important to note that such an ideology is taking possession of India day after day , whose goal is to finish India’s pride and honor into the soil. An ideology that is spreading communal violence in India. An idiology that is changing its history. It is on the way to destroy the dream of democracy which Nehru had seen, the dream of Ramrajya made by Gandhiji , the dream of Azad Bharat seen by Bose. The weapon of the ideology is lie. This ideology is creating violence among the people with the help of lies. And we need to raise our voice against such forces.
