26 health workers hired through outsourcing at the State Medical College, Banda in Uttar Pradesh have been dismissed with immediate effect on Friday. All these workers have been on strike for the last two days demanding Corona safety kits when they are being treated for corona virus infection.

Director of Medical and Health Services, Uttar Pradesh, Agyat Gupta, while addressing the 26 outsourced health workers who were sacked in the letter to the Principal of the Government Medical College Banda on Friday, said, “Despite the adverse situation prevailing in the country by you, there is an arbitrary strike, whereas at present the ESMA law is in force in the state. The health services of Government Medical College Banda are being affected by this act of yours. Hence, all services are terminated on contract basis with immediate effect. ”

At the same time there is anger among the dismissed health workers on this unilateral action. Dismissed health worker Preeti Dwivedi alleged, “The Principal of the Government Medical College imposed duty of all outsourcing personnel in the Corona isolation ward without providing safety kits.” In such a situation, all health workers were on strike for two days, demanding their Corona safety kit. But the conspiracy of the college principal led to his dismissal by the department, which will be challenged in the court. ”

Many health experts, including Congress, are constantly raising the issue of the safety of doctors and health workers treating the corona victims and demanding to provide them a safety kit. Congress also raised the issue of availability of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for medical workers fighting against Corona on Friday, on the night of April 5, by Prime Minister Modi, while reacting to the plea of the countrymen to light a lamp. The Congress asked, “Tell me why the medical personnel for whom you had clapped and thali are not getting personal protective equipment? Whose responsibility is it? ”

Earlier, PM Modi had called on the countrymen to clap and play thali in the evening of Janata curfew on 22 March in honor of the doctors and health workers engaged in the treatment of corona victims. Despite the threat of corona infection at the call of the PM, people all over the country came out on the streets with clap-thali and conch and also played drums and drums.

But now when some of those health workers asked for a safety kit to protect their lives, the BJP government of Uttar Pradesh has dismissed them from their jobs. This clearly shows that the BJP believes that the honor is fine till the tali thali is played, but if the Corona Security Kit is asked, all the honors will be forgotten and dismissed!
